What is this document? #
The Teaching Practice Letter is an official document that confirms you completed student teaching or classroom practice as part of your academic program.
Why is this required? #
This document is only required in some cases.
You will need it if your Foreign Credential Evaluation (FCE) does NOT clearly show your teaching practice or classroom training.
When do you need this? #
You need this document if:
- Your FCE does not mention student teaching
- Your degree does not clearly show teaching preparation
- You were informed that your file is missing teaching practice
What must the letter include? #
Your letter must include ALL of the following:
- Name of your university
- Confirmation of your teaching practice
- Subject area(s) you were trained in
- Name of the school where you completed your practice
- Dates of your teaching practice
Format requirements #
The letter must:
- Be on official university letterhead
- Include an official signature
- Include university contact information
Language requirements #
- The letter must be in English
- OR include a translation in the same file
How to get this letter #
- Contact your university
- Request a teaching practice verification letter
- Share the template provided
- Make sure all required information is included
- Get the letter signed and issued
How to submit your document #
You can:

👉 Email it to: certification@iagusa.org
and request it to be added to your file.
Common Mistakes (Very Important) #
Avoid these:
❌ Thinking this is always required
❌ Submitting a general academic letter instead
❌ Missing school name where practice was completed
❌ Missing subject area
❌ No signature or letterhead
❌ Not translating the document
