What is this document? #
The Letter Verifying Full-Time Teacher is an official document (or attestation of service) that confirms you are currently working as a full-time classroom teacher.
⚠️ This is not a recommendation letter.
Why is this required? #
For the J-1 Teacher Program, you must prove that you are actively working as a teacher in your home country.
This is a mandatory requirement to continue in the process.
What must the letter include? #
Your letter must include ALL of the following:
- School name
- Your position (Teacher)
- Confirmation that you are a full-time teacher
- Dates of employment
- Subjects you teach
- School contact information
Format requirements #
The letter must:
- Be on official school letterhead OR include an official stamp
- Include an official signature (not just typed)
- Include school contact information
- Be dated during the current academic year (August or later)
Language requirements #
- The letter must be in English
- OR include a simple English translation in the same file

How to get this letter #
- Contact your school administration
- Request an employment verification letter
- Share the template provided (recommended)
- Make sure all required information is included
- Get the letter signed and stamped
