On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, a significant partnership was formed between the Secretary of Education of Baja California, Mexico, and International Alliance Group (IAG), aimed at providing new employment and growth opportunities for bilingual teachers in the region. The agreement was signed in Mexicali, Baja California, and was led by Luis Gilberto Gallego Cortez, the Secretary of Education of Baja California, alongside Jason D. Hammond, President of IAG.
This event also saw the participation of key educational leaders, including the Undersecretaries of Basic Education and Higher Education, Dulce María Jáuregui Santillán and Alejandro Rosales Sotelo, the Director of the Teachers’ Career System, Adrián Esaú Salazar Pineda, and the State Coordinator of the National Migrant Education Program (PROBEM), Yara Amparo López López.
This collaboration aims to open new doors for bilingual teachers in Baja California, allowing them to apply for teaching positions in the United States and further their professional growth in an international setting.
How Does This Agreement Benefit U.S. School Districts?
This partnership opens up an opportunity for U.S. school districts to recruit bilingual teachers from Baja California, Mexico. These teachers bring diverse perspectives and are ready to contribute to the growing demand for educators who can serve multicultural classrooms.
Through this agreement, districts will have access to qualified candidates who have undergone a thorough screening process, ensuring they meet the standards expected in U.S. education. These teachers can help bridge language gaps, enhance student engagement, and improve educational outcomes in communities with diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
Furthermore, IAG provides comprehensive support to both the teachers and the districts throughout the entire process—ensuring the right integration into the school environment. We connect bilingual teachers with U.S. districts and offer visa options such as the J-1 Visa and the H-1B Visa, tailored to the needs of the district and the candidate’s qualifications.
